Heat It Up at Home

|

3 minutes

Eugh. I have a hangover. First one since New Years Day. We broke dry January yesterday as it was Eve’s birthday. We started drinking at 1pm.

This time last year we were in Malaga watching Italy announce its first case on the news in our hotel room. The year before we were on the beach in Bali. This year we were at home. I baked a Vegan Victoria Sponge cake, and we had pre-ordered a vegan ‘heat it up at home’ Michelin star takeaway from Pied a Terre. Which was fucking delicious.

Then we got hammered. 👌

The snow London had last weekend seems like a lifetime ago already. We were up early last Sunday and saw it begin so we wen’t out and caught the best of it. Plenty of happy looking snowmen in the parks!

THAMES DITTON SNOWMAN

This whole week has been a blur to be honest. The grey weather, the lockdown and my hangover today is resulting in some temporal confusion. I hardly know what day it is at all – does it matter?

Reading

I’ve started reading “The Power of Silence: Against the Dictatorship of Noise” by Cardinal Robert Sarah and Nicolas Diat. Here’s the blurb

In this long and profound conversation with Nicolas Diat, done within the hallowed walls of silence in the famous Carthusian monastery of La Grande Chartreux in France, the Cardinal proposes the question: can those who do not know silence ever attain truth, beauty, love? The response is undeniable: all that is great and creative is formed by silence. God is silence.

I’m looking forward to seeing where the Cathusianism is in 2020 as it were.

Chase Icon – SRS

First ever track/release from tiktok legend Chase Icon. It points to exciting possibilities and more work to come. The track begins with an old Lady Gaga sample “Why the hell am I going to waste my time and give a press release about whether or not I have a penis?” and goes on from there.

It’s strange posting this track on the day that news broke that SOHPIE has died.
Her influence on the single above is evident, quite frankly her influence on ALL of pop music right now is clear. Gutted.

Seeing SOPHIE and the PC Music crew at PowerLunches (also RIP) were some of the best nights out during the twenty teens. What a loss.
