Just got back from the chalk earlier today. We had a family trip in the car back from Kent via Gatwick Airport. My brother made a 1 week flying visit from Taiwan for Christmas and we had to drop him off. Won’t see him again now until July 2020 at the earliest.

Christmas was really nice thank you. Thanks for asking. I got to hang out with my family which is the most Important thing. I got some lovely presents from loved ones, ate lots (too much) amazing food. So much so that I’ve had permanent indigestion for the last few days. But that might also be something to do with the fact I ate trifle for breakfast this morning lol.

Christmas Tree

Mum and I cut a bunch of twigs and forage from the square outside my house last week and when I got home she had made several Christmas Wreaths for people. The photo below is the one we had on our dining table

We also went for walks around the coast, had coffees in Broadstairs, and went to Canterbury.

We were supposed to go to see Star Wars but the Cinema was flooded so we did some boxing day sales shopping instead. Got a great deal on new high thread count sheets and some copper bottomed pans!

I think I’ll probably try to see Star Wars before the new year. I definitely wan’t to see it in the cinema. It’ll be my first and last cinema visit of the year.

I think I’ll post another post before the years end with a round up of 2019, how it went for me and include some hopes and thoughts for 2020. This year has been way better than the previous one and way better than the one before that. So we’ll see how we go.
This time last year I was in the depression pit, when I should have been super excited about going travelling in Asia and Australia for 2 months. Ah well.

I have been working on a couple of essays – only noodling.

Reading

I re-read Gordon’s Chaos Protocols over the Christmas Break.

It’s probably the 2nd time i’ve sat down and read the whole thing cover to cover. Though I have pulled it down off the shelf and re-read bits and bobs.

As far as belated book reviews go. I think the books message and theme is as vital now – if not more vital – than it was on its publication in 2016. We first met in the pub around the time he was writing it. He and this book have had a big influence on my life.

Music

I haven’t been listening to music much this week – obviously. But mum bought a Dolly Parton CD when we were out in Canterbury. This is my fav song from the album. The audio in the embed below is actually taken from her 2014 Glastonbury performance.
